Hello Readers!
It’s time for an update on the wizarding world!
A lot has happened in the past few months and all will be recapped in this article.
First of all, as many may already know, the server used to be on the Minecraft version of 1.12.2 where everyone had access to a wide range of different worlds and could do many activities on the server we will forever know as ‘Dumbledores Army’ or DA! In honesty, it was getting a bit outdated with the Minecraft 1.17 update coming out soon, so the server was taken down to make way for a new server!
Many people were devastated by this and over the weeks leading to the close and the week after, many memories from peoples time on DA were shared. I wouldn’t be surprised if many tears were shed over the loss of the server.
But we all had the new and sparkly ‘Potterverse’ server to look forward too.
Many teasers where shown of the new server and everyone was hyped to get playing.
And soon the day arrived.
On the 29th of May 2021, The server opened and nearly a hundred people rushed to join the server as soon as they could.
The only worlds that were open at the time of the opening was the creative plots world and the towny world, and everyone was eager to explore everything.
However, a week passed and when we all expected the Hogwarts server to open so we could get back to the magical experience we are all used to, an interesting announcement was made.
The announcement stated that the with the upcoming release of the minecraft versions 1.17 and 1.18, which would give players more content to play with, staff wanted to update the server again so that they could utilise some of the features from the new versions.
So, a poll was put out to see what the players wanted. Evidently wanting the Hogwarts server to be released as soon as possible the majority vote went to the 1.17 Minecraft version, deeming the server to be released around the time of August instead of December.
On the towny world, there has been a slow release of content. Every week on Friday a new exciting feature is released to the server and it looks like a lot more content is still to come! So there is a lot to explore and do, be sure to check it out.
Meanwhile on the plots world, the judging system has started to come into action. Everyone has built a wide variety of themes on plots and it all looks amazing so far. Results for the first round of judging has recently been completed and lots of people have ranked up.
