The History Behind Filius Flitwick

On this lovely day, we will be learning about the Hogwarts Charms Professor, Filus Flitwick. There is a lot to be said about this great wizard, so I recommend grabbing a glass of lemonade and some Treacle Fudge.

Flitwick is in fact, half goblin and half wizard. Being half goblin may explain how he is so incredibly short, compared to most witches and wizards of our day. Filius was sorted into the Ravenclaw house, and soon became the most competitive and intelligent student of his age. He was a very fast learner and became especially handy at Charms. Year 2 Flitwick was often said to be better than some of the Year 7’s at Hogwarts. He was also brilliantly talented at dueling his fellow students. Filius could knock out a student, that was years higher than him, in only a few seconds.

Years later, after Filius Flitwick graduated from Hogwarts, he came back and applied for the Charms Professor position, which he was gladly accepted into. Flitwick despised He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, and fought valiantly against him during the First and Second Wizarding Wars. During this time, he also became the Ravenclaw Head of House. After that, Flitwick fought at many other wizarding battles, including the Battle of the Astronomy Tower in 1997, and the Battle of Hogwarts, in which he saved multiple students and destroyed Death Eaters.

At the moment, Filius Flitwick is still the Charms Professor at Hogwarts. Though he has been through a lot, he keeps his head up and encourages students around him to learn more about Charms.
